What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at St. Anthony of Padua Church?
St. Anthony of Padua in East Northport is seeking a Part-Time temporary worker which could turn into a Full-Time Parish maintenance worker. This position requires cleaning and maintenance for the church buildings and grounds. Hours must be flexible Mon.-Fri. and weekends may be required. Morning schedule. Individual will report to the Business Manager
Duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The job requires working in collaboration with the Business Manager but with a sense of responsibility and initiative that does not demand constant supervision.
- General custodial and maintenance of Church facilities and grounds.
- Set up tables and take them down as needed and clean floors prior to events.
- Ensure the bathrooms, kitchens, refrigerators and other appliances are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Clean bathrooms, hallways, and windows as needed.
- Responsible for making sure the Church grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Perform scheduled weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual janitorial duties.
- Providing set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities and events.
- Place signs in front of church for Funerals and other events.
- Able to maintain and/or repair various items in the Church as needed.
- Maintain inventory and reorder supplies.
- Assist with snow removal on sidewalks, stairs, and pathways in time for the opening Church.
- Any other Church duties deemed necessary as requested by the Business Manager such as, painting and fixing church doors and pews.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a maintenance/custodian or equivalent position.
· Able to lift possibly up to 50 lbs.
