St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for a Dining Room Manager for our assisted living facility Cherry Ridge located on the Webster Campus. The purpose of this position is to oversee all dining rooms and catering events for all levels of care. Collaborates with Executive Chef in all front of house operations, including retail.

Job Description:
  • Demonstrates commitment of quality through participation in improvement teams and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Consistently delivers high quality service with focus on responsiveness to customer’s needs.
  • Works to improve performance relative to the system’s organizational goals.
  • Complies with applicable organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a customer driven staff and works to develop performance outcomes.
  • Ensures the efficiency and economy of a successful operation.
  • Demonstrates initiative and cooperation in professional working relationships.
  • Prepares reports, proposals and other documents necessary in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Maintains a comprehensive Quality Improvement Plan for meal services to Cherry Ridge & the SACC.
  • Oversees and directs daily operations of all resident meal services within Cherry Ridge, and assists as needed with the SACC .
  • Oversees and directs daily operations of all food retail locations for residents, guests and staff, i.e. a la carte dine in and take out services
  • Oversees and directs operations of all catered events both in house and for outside groups. Works directly with event host / hostess, plans, communicates, schedules, runs and initiates billing for events as required.
  • Assists Director and works with other department leaders in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Utilizes monthly Food Safety audit tools to maintain a food safe environment.
  • Utilizes Department software in regards to meal service.
  • Assists Director with development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Works with multiple disciplines to maintain continuous quality in meal service.
  • Assures compliance of JCAHO, NYSDOH and OSHA guidelines and regulations.
  • Responsible for operating within budgeted expenses assigned to their control.
  • Coordinates events and caterings for internal & external groups in conjunction with other Food Service Department leaders.
  • Costs events and caterings conjunction with other Food Service Department leaders.
  • Codes invoices for payment and works with SAH Finance Department as required.
  • Supervises cash out procedures for the R&M Orchard Café.
  • Tracks guest meal information, meal counts, sales, and room charge expenses.
  • Orders selected vendor products such as coffee and Pepsi.
  • Assists Director with monitoring key financial performances of this operation.
  • Assists Director with development of operational and staffing annual budget.
  • Assists Director with development of annual capital budget.
  • Assesses performance of Dining Room Captains and wait staff. Writes performance appraisals accordingly.
  • Directs Dining Room Captains and wait staff in topics such as customer service, steps of service, food safety & sanitation.
  • Ensures assignment and supervision of all a.m. and p.m. service staff.
  • Ensures that all organizational systems are adhered to in regards to staff’s health, assessment and safety.
  • Ensures the hiring and retention of staff. Works with Human resources in a proactive, consistent manner in regards to the disciplinary process.
  • Ensures compliance of in-service training and staff development within this operation.
  • Assists with training of line staff & SACC staff in food service principles such as kitchen equipment & procedures, HACCP guidelines, service and meal preparation, holding and plating techniques, and documentation
  • Strategizes to increase sales volume and profitability within R&M Orchard Café.
  • Assists organization with initiatives in building market share and visibility.
  • Works to promotes Cherry Ridge for marketing projects within organization.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Nutrition or Foodservice Management with 5 (five) – 7 (seven) years’ experience of continuous or recent foodservice experience or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Previous POS experience and Serv Safe Certified preferred
