St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center is seeking an Intake Coordinator to assist families and individuals navigating through life’s difficult circumstances, including homelessness and hunger. Primary Duties:
- Guest Intake - Acts as first point of contact for all CRC guests, answers and responds to all CRC phone calls routing the call to the appropriate person for intake, determines the guests' needs and identifies internal or external resources to meet those needs, collaborates to schedule appointments for intake or other services with Case Managers.
- Resource Coordination - Researches area resources and remains up-to-date on current available area resources, refers guests to partner organizations when needed, creates and maintains a resource manual and reference pamphlets/sheets for guests and staff.
- Record keeping - Tracks guest information and assistance provided in the case management computer system, enters data and files paperwork.
- Distribution Events - Coordinates registration and delivery of services.
- Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
- Alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church; Comfortable working in a Christian environment
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree in social services or related field preferred
- Two or more years of experience providing excellent customer service or working for a non-profit
- Prior experience working in a hospitality driven environment
- Bilingual Spanish/English (Strongly preferred, but not required)
- Skill in listening and conveying understanding of a guest's problem or issue to find resolution; Ability to express empathy for others
- Skill and experience working with diverse economic and cultural populations
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented, collaborative environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively and professionally with peers, supervisor, callers, and guests
- Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Gmail, database systems and other similar applications sufficient to create, update and save a variety of documents/information
Schedule:
The work schedule is typically Monday through Thursday 9am-3pm. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required for special events. Approximately 24 hours per week.
As part of the larger organization of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, this position will be required to provide hospitality assistance for special holiday services which will include working one short (2-3 hours or less) hospitality desk shift on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and/or Easter Sunday based on seniority, as well as any other "all hands on deck" events as assigned. All other major holidays are off and paid!
