What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Teacher position at St. Andrew Catholic School?
The school seeks a full-time middle school teacher to help lead students to wholeness in the image of Jesus Christ. Under the leadership and direction of the principal and under the care of the pastor of the parish, the key duties of the teacher will be:
Supports and upholds the values of Catholic education and the mission of the school
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Supports and adheres to the Staff Covenant and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
• Plans for instruction with logically sequenced objectives, based on adopted curriculum and submitted according to the local school policy
• Uses effective instructional methods/models according to professional standard practice
• Uses varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments
• Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy
• Practices positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom
• Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, or safety concerns
• Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
• Be aware of and monitor internet usage for students as outlined by Diocese policy.
• To participate in a culture of faith and friendship centered on the love of Christ and the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
• To partner with parents and colleagues in providing a nurturing Catholic environment
focused on academic excellence.
• To work with school leadership in professional development with the goal of improving in the craft of teaching
