Director of Student Engagement

Mount Mercy campus, St. Ambrose University located in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an energetic, innovative, and collaborative professional to serve as the Director of Student Engagement. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping student life by developing and implementing programs, services, and initiatives that promote student involvement, leadership, and a vibrant campus culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging and unique night and weekend programming that reinforces students to stay on campus and get engaged.
• Supervise majority of student organizations (e.g. student government association, registered student organizations, etc.)
• Develop effective marketing strategies to ensure successful participation levels as well as to inform students, faculty, and staff about upcoming night, and weekend programs and opportunities for student involvement.
• Collaborate with departments across the university to promote holistic student success
• Recruit, select, supervise and mentor a team of staff and student staff
• Manage budgets, assessment efforts, and planning processes for student engagement activities
• Serve as a visible and accessible campus leader who connects with diverse student populations
• Attend/help with major Student Services events (e.g. Mustang Welcome, commencement, etc.)
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in student engagement, student life, event planning or related areas
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
