St. Ambrose University is seeking a Chief Mission Integration Officer (CMIO).

This individual serves as a key member of the President's Leadership Council and leads the network-

wide effort to celebrate, grow, and strengthen the shared Catholic identity, core values, mission and

vision of network campuses while, simultaneously, working to ensure that the unique traditions and

nuances of member institutions "cross pollinate" across member institutions. Rooted in the charisms

of St. Ambrose of Milan and Catherine McAuley, the CMIO promotes the formation of faculty, staff,

and leadership; advocates for mission-driven decision-making; and cultivates an institutional culture

that reflects the Gospel and Catholic social teaching.

Working across multiple campuses, the CMIO will advance a shared mission rooted in the Catholic

intellectual tradition, promote inclusive spiritual development, and help shape strategic and operational

decisions to ensure alignment with the university's faith-based mission.

Primary Responsibilities

Mission Leadership and Integration

· Serve as the senior advisor to the President on all matters of Catholic identity and mission

integration.

· Lead efforts to articulate, sustain, and animate the mission and vision of the network across

member campuses and in all university operations.

· Ensure alignment of university policies, procedures, and programs with Catholic teaching and values, the Mercy charism, the institutions' missions, and Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and the vision for the broader network. · Represent the mission perspective in institutional planning, strategic initiatives, and major decision-making processes. Employee Formation and Development · Design and implement (in collaboration with select faculty and staff members) mission-centered onboarding, orientation, formation, and ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and administration. · Facilitate reflective opportunities on vocation, values-based leadership, and Catholic social thought. · Collaborate with Human Resources and Academic Affairs to ensure the integration of mission into hiring, orientation, and evaluation processes, as appropriate. Spiritual Life and Interfaith Engagement · Oversee Campus Ministry and related spiritual formation programs, ensuring robust and inclusive opportunities for faith development and service learning. · Support the development of Catholic liturgical life and sacramental opportunities on member campuses. · Promote interfaith dialogue and engagement, fostering a respectful, inclusive spiritual environment for students and employees of all traditions. Mission Education and Advocacy · Work with Academic Affairs to support curricular initiatives that integrate Catholic intellectual tradition and social teaching in the university's core curriculum and across disciplines. · Provide mission-related consultation for institutional communications, public messaging, fundraising, and partnerships. · Represent the university in local diocesan, national, and international mission-focused associations and conversations. Collaboration and Supervision · Supervise mission-related staff across both campuses, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment. · Coordinate mission-focused events, retreats, service immersion experiences, and community-building initiatives. · Support trustees and university leadership in their own mission formation and engagement. Qualifications · Master's degree (e.g., Master of Divinity) required; Doctorate in theology, ministry, higher education leadership, or a related field preferred. · Deep knowledge of Catholic theology, social teaching, and the Catholic intellectual tradition. · Leadership experience in mission integration or related areas, preferably in Catholic higher education. · Demonstrated ability to lead formation programs and promote institutional mission in complex, multi-campus settings. · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaborative leadership skills. · Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church and supportive of the institutional mission of a Catholic university. Preferred Qualities · Familiarity with the charisms and traditions of both St. Ambrose of Milan and the Sisters of Mercy. · Experience in change leadership and integration. · Ability to engage diverse communities with empathy, creativity, and theological depth.
