Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Capital Projects Coordinator will manage programming,
design, budgeting, and construction of school-related capital improvement projects on the campus of
St. Albans School. Specifically, areas of responsibility will include:
- Assist in implementation of the School’s capital plan for facilities including both major
- Coordinate and manage processes related to commencement of capital projects, including
- Provide on-site oversight of construction projects, including but not limited to, project timeline
mitigation of safety concerns;
- Understand and incorporate programmatic requirements in capital projects working with
- Prepare budget estimates for design services, other consultants’ fees and construction in
- Manage relationships with contractors and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor quality standards of construction and conformance to contract documents;
- Prepare analysis and reports related to the effective and efficient operations of capital projects;
- Ensure that safety protocols are established and adhered to as they relate to execution of
- Prepare project close-out documentation.
The position may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not
preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Reporting: Reports to the Director of Facilities
Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000

For the purposes of management, performance assessment, and span of control, the Capital Projects
Coordinator directly supervises:

Professional Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Experience: 4 years of relevant experience in facilities design, construction,
architecture, or project management
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management,
Interior Design, Project Management, or other related field
Certifications: PMP, LEED AP, and/or OSHA 10-hour preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction project management;
- Ability to read and interpret building construction documents;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to independently plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks;
- Ability to negotiate, mitigate conflict, and build alliances;
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure; and
- Excellent organization and time management skills.

Working Conditions
SCHEDULE – Typically, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with
occasional work on nights and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to stand and walk for potentially extended lengths of time over
a sprawling campus; frequent stretching or bending to access equipment or objects in need of repair;
frequent lifting, carrying pushing and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
