Principal PreK-Grade 8

Position Summary Saint Albans City School and Maple Run Unified School District are seeking an experienced and student-centered Principal to lead Saint Albans City School, a PreK–Grade 8 school serving approximately 609 students. The Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school and is responsible for promoting high levels of student achievement, a positive and inclusive school culture, and strong family and community partnerships. The Principal works in close collaboration with the Superintendent and district leadership team to advance district goals and priorities. About Saint Albans City School Saint Albans City School serves approximately 609 students in PreK–Grade 8 with 137 dedicated faculty and staff members. Instructional priorities include: -Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) -Social Emotional Learning (SEL) -Universal Design for Learning (UDL) -Project-Based Learning (PBL) -Inclusive educational practices -Strong student support systems -A highly respected special education program -Meaningful family and community engagement Student Profile: -609 students, PreK–Grade 8 -66% economically disadvantaged -30% students with IEPs -5% students with 504 plans -2% multilingual learners Responsibilities The Principal will: -Lead curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement efforts -Support, supervise, and develop faculty and staff -Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging school climate -Strengthen relationships with families and the community -Manage day-to-day school operations and build leadership -Ensure alignment with district mission, goals, and state/federal requirements Qualifications -Master’s Degree required -Vermont Principal Endorsement (or eligibility) required -Minimum of five years of successful experience in education -Demonstrated success in instructional leadership and school improvement -Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills About the Community Saint Albans, Vermont, is a welcoming community in northwestern Vermont with approximately 7,000 residents.
