Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital protocols, ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacotherapy plans, considering pharmacology, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, oncology, ICU patients, and those requiring acute pain or emergency care management.
• Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications using aseptic techniques and IV infusion protocols while maintaining strict quality control standards.
• Monitor drug therapy effectiveness and adverse reactions, adjusting treatments as necessary based on clinical pharmacy experience and patient response.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Precept pharmacy residents and students, sharing expertise in areas such as managed care, hospital medicine, drug regulation, pharmacotherapeutics, and hospital pharmacy operations.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support precise patient care and medication management.
• Proven experience in critical care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, Level II trauma centers, ICU units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), emergency rooms, or hospital medicine settings.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards and drug regulation policies to ensure safe medication practices.
• Skilled in IV compounding techniques, aseptic procedures, medication administration protocols, and IV infusion preparation.
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy systems including EMR/EHR platforms and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for efficient workflow management.
• Ability to assess patients holistically through patient service skills and patient care expertise; capable of managing complex medication therapies including oncology and acute pain management.
• Experience practicing as a pharmacist post-residency or with post-residency experience in acute care settings; prior precepting experience is highly valued.
• Knowledge of managed care principles to coordinate medication procurement and formulary management effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education; adept at practicing medical terminology accurately within clinical documentation.

Pay: $62.59 - $70.00 per hour
