SSR Mining’s Marigold Mine, located near Battle Mountain, Nevada, is looking for a Resource Development Geologist to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Resource Development Geologist, the Geologist will design and conduct district exploration and resource development programs on the 35 square mile Marigold, Trenton Canyon and Buffalo Valley tenements. Based out of the Marigold mine, the Geologist will mentor and advise the exploration and resource development team and contractors, contributing project management expertise to geologic mapping, sampling, modeling, reporting, and budgeting. The Geologist will ensure business plans are achieved in a fast-paced, demanding, dynamic, and results-driven environment. Key Areas Of Responsibility & Duties
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Resource Development Geologist typically works a 4 days, 10 hour day schedule and is responsible for the following:
- Design and conduct district exploration and resource development programs on the 35 square mile Marigold, Trenton Canyon, and Buffalo Valley tenements.
- Supervision of exploration activities – including contractors, in field as well as office
- Carry out and oversee technical functions (mapping, drill hole logging, etc).
- Assist with geologic modeling updates and provide support to resource and mine geologists.
- Integrate and interpret geologic mapping, geophysical, geochemical and drilling data
- Generate targets and prepare business cases regarding individual targets present results and recommendations
- Assist in preparing budget requests for exploration as needed
- Knowledge of industry standard QA&QC protocols
- Assist with maintaining accurate exploration data in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide support to various groups including Corporate, Mine Operations, Mine Engineering, Permitting/Environmental and other groups as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Good working knowledge in Leapfrog and/or Minesight
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with various individuals, crews, departments and organizational levels
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex or diverse information, required.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures, required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, required.
- 5-11 year’s work experience supporting geology and exploration activities
