Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation and selection of building materials, building systems, and project design methods.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered and develop substantial adaptations and modifications to standard architectural techniques and procedures.
  • Independently perform assignments with instructions as to general results expected; exercise sound judgment to resolve problems, but may receive architectural guidance on unusual or complex facility designs; solicit the approval of the department manager and project architect for proposed design solutions.
  • Perform specific phases of work on major projects or assume total architectural responsibility for projects of smaller or moderate scope.
  • Oversee the drafting effort on a project and coordinate this effort with other disciplines on the same project and, at times, check a portion of the completed drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA compliance requirements, and site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering systems, methods, and general details.
  • Use knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials, and construction techniques to finalize project documents for bidding and construction purposes.
  • Assume responsibility for the final content of architectural project specifications.
  • Participate in client contact and business development activities.
  • Assist in the integration of all disciplines of the project(s).

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture.
  • Five (5) or more years related practical experience with former employer(s).
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in the complex healthcare environments (Hospitals - General or Specialty, Ambulatory Surgical Facilities, Imaging Centers, etc.) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally for site visits, client meetings, and construction administration as project requirements dictate.
  • A valid driver's license. May be waived for international assignments.

What We’ll Bring
