We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team and play a key role in optimizing our accounting operations and financial performance.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounts payable and receivable operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial transactions. This role requires strong experience in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), inventory and operational invoicing, multi-currency payments, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will also drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function to enhance processes and reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice verification, approvals, and payments.
- Oversee EDI transaction processes with suppliers, ensuring data accuracy and timely exchange.
- Reconcile inventory and operational invoices, resolving discrepancies with the purchasing and receiving departments.
- Process domestic and international payments in multiple currencies, ensuring compliance with company and banking requirements.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow, maintaining adequate liquidity to support business operations.
- Support the accounts receivable collections, ensuring timely customer payments and accurate application of receipts.
- Support vendor and customer relationships to maintain favorable terms and resolve billing or payment issues.
- Support monthly and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and audit preparation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support automation initiatives.
- Supervise and develop AP staff, fostering accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, including in management or supervisory role.
- Prior experience in the auto parts, wholesale, or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with EDI systems and ERP accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Experience managing foreign currency transactions and understanding FX implications.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management and accounts receivable collections.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
