What are the responsibilities and job description for the MO-Team Leader position at SSAB AB?
POSITION PURPOSE
Support Production and Shipping departments by performing quality functions of industry specifications that allow SSAB-produced material to be supplied to our customers without quality issues. Maintain awareness of the personnel and equipment challenges within all labs, and provide guidance that helps ensure each area is functioning optimally. Must work a rotating shift schedule between all labs.
- Safely operate testing equipment in all labs
- Safely operate sample preparation equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Contact others for assistance and move personnel within and between labs when required
- Follow instructions from the prior shift and lab management
- Address and report safety and environmental incidents when they occur
- Provide a summary shift report that covers personnel, maintenance and scheduling issues to inform the incoming shift Team Leader
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies and Experience
- Experienced in the operation of all equipment in all labs
- Detail oriented
- Computer literate (basic operation and/or troubleshooting)
- Ability to work well with other team members
- Ability to maintain a safe work area
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Ability to perform multiple task simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Ability to interpret industry specifications (ASTM, EN, API, ABS, CSA, etc.)
- Has achieved MO status in good standing
- Has achieved, or is willing to achieve, the training required to work independently in all labs, including both Physical Labs, the Chemlab and Etchlab
- Understands how to operate the computer systems in each lab, and has experience in obtaining physical test requirements from CSIS (Level 4)
- Understands the logistics of each lab well enough to know how to prioritize resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan and organize personnel
Education
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Secondary education is preferred.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
