Duties:
A water restoration technician is responsible for assessing, mitigating, and restoring properties that have been damaged by water. Their duties may include:

1. Inspection: Assess the extent of water damage and identify the source of the water intrusion.
2. Water Extraction: Remove standing water from the affected area using pumps and specialized equipment.
3. Drying: Set up dehumidifiers and fans to dry out the space, preventing mold growth.
4. Mold Remediation: Address and remove any mold that may have developed due to water damage.
5. Structural Repair: Repair or replace damaged building materials, such as drywall and flooring.
7. Sanitization: Disinfect affected areas to prevent health hazards.
8. Documentation: Document the entire restoration process for insurance claims.
9. Communication: Interact with property owners, adjusters, and contractors to coordinate the restoration.
10. Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety guidelines to protect themselves and others from hazards.

These technicians play a crucial role in helping properties recover from water-related disasters, such as floods or leaks.

Experience:
A water restoration technician should have a combination of education, training, and experience to excel in the role. Here's what's typically expected:

1. **Education:** While a formal degree is not always required, having a high school diploma or equivalent is a minimum. Related certifications or vocational training programs in water damage restoration.
