Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment Operator to support the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a Class II wastewater treatment facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on operational experience, regulatory knowledge, and prior responsibility in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and maintaining overall environmental compliance for the wastewater treatment system, including required monitoring, sampling, and regulatory reporting at federal, state, and local levels
- Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment system, ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and responding promptly to operational repairs
- Perform process control laboratory testing and maintain accurate compliance and operational records
- Ensure strict compliance with safety programs, including PPE usage, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
- Identify, prevent, and report unsafe conditions or activities to maintain a safe working environment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild pumps and wastewater treatment equipment as required
Required Qualifications Education
- Associate’s degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
OR equivalent approved credit hours in an alternate curriculum
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of acceptable operating experience in a Class II wastewater treatment facility
- At least 2 years of experience in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) role
Certification & Licensing
- Level III Wastewater (WW) Operator License (required)
- Level A Wastewater Operator preferred
- Demonstrated ability to rebuild pumps and treatment equipment
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Holds a Level A or Level III Wastewater Operator License
- Has strong operational and compliance knowledge of wastewater treatment systems
- Comfortable working independently in a leadership or DRC capacity
- Flexible to work second or third shift schedules
Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
