What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at SRV HR?
The Opportunity
You’re good at this work. Really good. And somewhere along the way, that stopped feeling like enough.
Maybe you’re tired of fighting for a seat at the table you’ve already earned. Tired of being the last to know and the first to clean it up. Tired of policies that protect the org chart instead of the people. Tired of doing the same open enrollment, the same annual review cycle, the same re-org, in a different year, with a different logo on your badge.
SRV HR is built for HR leaders who are done with all of that, and ready for something different.
As an HR Director on our fractional platform, you’ll bring your expertise to a portfolio of client organizations, advising founders, guiding executive teams, and building the kind of HR programs you’ve always wished someone would let you build. The work is dynamic, high-impact, and never the same twice. You’ll finally have the variety, the autonomy, and the access that a traditional corporate role rarely offers.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
If you’ve ever thought of the following, keep reading:
- “I keep getting pulled into execution while my strategic ideas collect dust.”
- “I know more than the leaders I support, but I’m not empowered to act on it.”
- “I’ve built the same onboarding program three times at three different companies.”
- “I want to make a real difference, not just keep the lights on.”
- “I didn’t get into HR to be a paper-pusher or a policy enforcer.”
You’re not burned out on HR. You’re burned out on the constraints. That’s a very different problem, and we have a very different solution.
Your Role
- Fractional Executive Partner: Serve as an embedded HR Directorfor a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to their leadership teams.
- Benefits Architect: Design, implement, and manage competitive benefits programs that attract and retain talent while aligning with each client’s budget and culture.
- Compliance Guardian: Ensure clients remain ahead of employment law requirements, navigating EEO, ADA, FMLA, state-specific regulations, and evolving HR best practices with confidence.
- Employee Relations Advisor: Guide leaders and employees through sensitive issues with sound judgment, empathy, and a bias toward resolution and organizational health.
- People Program Builder: Create and deploy HR infrastructure: onboarding, performance management, compensation frameworks, handbooks, and culture initiatives that actually stick.
- Problem Solver & Solutionist: When clients face HR challenges they’ve never encountered before, you bring clarity, creativity, and a practical path forward.
Who You Are
- Experienced: You bring 7 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated expertise in benefits, compliance, and employee relations.
- Executive Presence: You communicate with confidence and credibility at the executive level. Founders and C-suite leaders trust your judgment immediately.
- Adaptable & Agile: You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can shift between strategic thinking and tactical execution without missing a beat.
- A Builder: You’ve created HR programs from the ground up — you don’t wait for a playbook to exist; you write it.
- Certified: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required; Master’s a plus.
- Client-Service Minded: You understand that in a fractional model, your clients are your partners. You bring urgency, care, and professionalism to every engagement.
