CALIFORNIA TO FLORIDA
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including trucks with AUTOMATIC transmissions, across designated routes to deliver freight efficiently.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations.
- Manage route driving schedules effectively to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with the maintenance of freight equipment and report any mechanical concerns promptly.
Experience
- Proven truck driving experience with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) suitable for tractor-trailers.
- Experience operating AUTOMATIC transmission trucks is preferred.
- Prior work with refrigerated trailers, or specialized freight is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other loading equipment.
- Delivery driver experience involving route driving across urban or rural areas.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling.
