SRT Therapeutics is a San Diego-based biotech company established in 2024 by the founders of Prometheus Biosciences, Steph Targan, MD (Cedars Sinai), Janine Bilsborough, Ph.D. (Cedars Sinai), the scientific team that discovered Tulisokibart (MK7240) and the role of TL1A in IBD and Scott Glenn and Lauren Otsuki, the drug development team that took Tulisokibart (MK7240) from academia into the clinic. Building on the demonstrated success of the precision medicine approach in IBD with Tulisokibart, SRT Therapeutics will expand this approach by targeting key pathways that not only modulate inflammatory pathways, but also promote tissue healing in IBD. This strategy will move SRT Therapeutics beyond the current empirical treatment model to realize the goal of enhancing both outcomes and the quality of care for our patients.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our Research & Development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in in vitro culture of human primary cells and cell lines, particularly those relevant to immunology research. This role requires a proven ability to design, execute, and analyze in vitro assays to investigate molecular pathway modulation, cellular proliferation, survival, and function, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Beyond technical expertise, the candidate will have the opportunity to provide subject matter expertise, collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners, and ensure projects stay on track to support the company’s innovation pipeline. This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide scientific and technical expertise to advance and evaluate preclinical drug development of immunotherapeutic candidates.
- Design, execution, and analysis of in vitro assays including flow cytometry, western blot, ELISAs, live cell imaging, and RT-PCR.
- Provide scientific insight and maintain effective communication with internal research teams and external collaborators.
- Participate in daily laboratory maintenance activities including ordering and maintaining stocks of lab reagents.
- Present results in a multidisciplinary team environment that includes collaborations with top research laboratories and pharmaceutical companies.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- BSc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology or other related field with 4 years of biotech industry experience, or MSc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology or other related field with 2 years of biotech industry.
- Background in Drug Discovery (small molecule or biologics) required
- Background in Immunology preferred
- Experience with in vitro culture of human primary cells and established human cell lines.
- Expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry, including analysis and intracellular staining, western blot, ELISA, and RT-PCR.
- A track record of independent scientific achievement and problem solving.
- Extensive aseptic technique.

Salary : $72,000 - $105,000
