Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accountant located in the Portland, Tennessee office (Nashville Metro Area). The Accountant will be responsible for managing client financials, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
A strong tax background is preferred, as this role will focus heavily on individual and business income tax preparation, tax planning, and client advisory services. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and providing actionable insights to clients throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns
- Assist with tax planning, projections, and compliance for small businesses and professionals
- Maintain client books and records, including reconciliations and adjusting entries
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy and consistency
- Research and resolve tax or accounting issues as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely client deliverables
- Participate in training and process development to enhance firm efficiency and quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA license or progress toward CPA (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in public accounting, with tax preparation experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, or similar)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
