What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loans Quality Control Specialist position at SRP FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Consumer Loan Operations Manager, maintains asset quality by reviewing consumer loans for accuracy and compliance. Identifies loan discrepancies and notifies parties necessary for resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach".
- Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
- Reviews consumer loans for compliance with credit union policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines.
- Performs quality control on a sample of consumer loans according to guidelines.
- Identifies exceptions to guidelines and notes in core operating system.
- Review and completes reports with loan exceptions for internal correspondence.
- Responsible for reviewing loans to ensure all required signed documents are present.
- Reviews loss mitigation options provided to members to ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
- Performs a monthly review of the Metric2 report and corrects any fatal errors.
- Identifies loans with negative balances and addresses issues as necessary.
- Responsible for reviewing lines of credit to determine ongoing credit limit eligibility.
- Reviews debt to income report and addresses any discrepancies.
- Communicates with SRP staff and/or members to inform them of various loan discrepancies.
- Performs necessary file maintenance as needed.
- Adjust loan record account changes when subsequent action forms are submitted
- Manages the intake and sorting of loan documents from various departments within the credit union.
- Identifies loan documents not received in a timely manner and communicates issues with booking officers.
- Reviews non-amortization report and identifies issues.
- Addresses credit reporting disputes received from E-Oscar
- Responsible for reviewing loan file maintenance performed and addressing any discrepancies.
- May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.

- Cross trains within Loan Operations department
Market Expansion & Member Experience Initiatives
- Reduce documentation friction by communicating findings with Retail.
Consumer Insights & Marketing Alignment
- Use quality control findings to flag recurring loan errors
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensures that loans comply with federal and state regulations, as well as credit union policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
There will be no direct supervisory responsibilities for this role.
Qualifications:Education/Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; 3 years of quality control experience required; 5 years preferred.
Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar software. Experience with Meridian Link or equivalent consumer loan software preferred.
