Summary:
The Manager of Community Impact leads the credit union’s combined Community Impact team, which includes Community Development and Financial Counseling functions. This role drives initiatives that strengthen community engagement, financial education, and member support while advancing the credit union’s mission of financial empowerment. Partnering closely with executive leadership, the Manager ensures all programs, outreach efforts, and community partnerships are strategically aligned, impactful, and integrated across the organization. Success in this role requires strong leadership, program management expertise, and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with community partners, stakeholders, members, and internal teams.
Standard Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, schedule varies based on departmental and community event planning needs. Occasional early mornings, late evenings, and Saturdays required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the newly combined Community Impact team, integrating Community Development and Financial Counseling programs to maximize efficiency, impact, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for community outreach, financial education, and member support initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure Community Impact programs are mission-driven, measurable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead team goal-setting, performance tracking, and reporting on community impact metrics.
- Manage the delivery and expansion of community programs, including partnerships with local schools, organizations, and nonprofits.
- Oversee financial counseling services, ensuring members receive high-quality, personalized guidance to achieve financial wellness.
- Coordinate events, workshops, business expos, and outreach campaigns to increase awareness of the credit union’s programs and services.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all community initiatives, in partnership with Marketing and Communications teams.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop team members across Community Development and Financial Counseling functions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and member-focused service.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and support professional growth opportunities.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration with other departments to maximize community impact.
- Track and analyze program and event outcomes, member engagement, and community impact metrics.
- Report findings and insights to the CDO, making recommendations for program improvements or expansions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies for all community programs and financial counseling activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises all Community Impact team members, including Community Development and Financial Counselor staff.
- Responsible for team development, performance management, and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Community Development, Social Work, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience managing community programs, financial counseling services, or nonprofit initiatives.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple programs simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, program tracking tools, and data reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial wellness programs, community engagement strategies, and nonprofit partnerships.
- Ability to develop and analyze program metrics to inform decision-making.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable programs.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives.
