Role Description The Communications & Public Relations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in North Augusta, SC. This position is responsible for planning, drafting, and editing clear and engaging communications for internal and external audiences, including member updates, staff announcements, and marketing messages. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and distributing press releases, coordinating strategic communications campaigns, and supporting brand consistency across channels such as email, intranet, website, and social media. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather information, develop key messages, and ensure timely delivery of communications. The Communications Specialist will monitor communication effectiveness, maintain editorial calendars, and help manage communication-related projects to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate strong Communication and Writing skills for a variety of audiences and channels.
- Experience creating and managing Press Releases and media communications.
- Proficiency in Strategic Communications, including planning and executing communication campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience with Internal Communications, such as staff updates, intranet content, and leadership messaging.
- Strong attention to detail, grammar, and style, with the ability to edit and proofread content effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in financial services, member-based organizations, or a regulated industry is beneficial.
- Proficiency with standard office software and communication tools; familiarity with digital and social media platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in an on-site environment.
