Job Description: Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer with 5 years of professional experience to join our team. This individual will manage and execute geotechnical engineering projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with client requirements and company standards. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead projects from proposal through delivery.
In this role, you will prepare proposals and cost estimates, oversee daily project operations, provide quality and safety oversight, and contribute to business development efforts. You will help identify and pursue new opportunities while building strong, lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical field investigations, and laboratory testing.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in site assessments and provide on-site support as needed.
- Develop scopes of work, prepare proposals, and generate accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to define project requirements and communicate progress.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and quality to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain high standards of safety in all aspects of field and project work.
- Support business development activities, including client outreach, proposal development, and relationship building.
Education & Required Skills
- BS degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred but not required)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active progress toward licensure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and willingness to support team members
- Growth-oriented professional comfortable taking on new responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively in field, lab, and office environments
