Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer with strong expertise in PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to support manufacturing automation projects within the Medical Device or Automotive industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated production equipment while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for automated manufacturing systems.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs using platforms such as Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), Siemens (S7/TIA Portal), or Mitsubishi.
- Develop and modify HMI interfaces using FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or similar tools.
- Configure and maintain SCADA systems for monitoring and data acquisition.
- Support equipment commissioning, FAT/SAT, startup, and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot automation, controls, and electrical issues on production lines.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams to improve process efficiency and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, electrical schematics, and control narratives.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) or IATF 16949 (Automotive) standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other major automation platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for manufacturing equipment and automated systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA).
