The Biosciences Division at SRI International has an opening for a Research Associate II in the Center for Macromolecular Bioscience in Harrisonburg, VA. We seek motivated scientists with backgrounds in biotechnology, chemical biology, molecular and cellular biology or related fields. The candidate should be driven to contribute intellectually within a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Independently perform laboratory experiments to meet objectives of projects.
- Analyze data and present results in organized manner.
- Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines (e.g., chemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, neuroscience and immunology) in cross-divisional teams.
- Keep a detailed laboratory notebook and present progress to the group.
- Complete necessary training classes and maintain a safe working environment.

Learn and abide by SRI’s intellectual property guidelines.
- Master’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or similar discipline or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of laboratory experience.
- Experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques such as mammalian tissue culture, PCR, microscopy and/or flow cytometry.
- Previous experience in animal handling and procedures is a plus.
- Background in Cancer Biology or Neuroscience is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
