  • Plan, direct, and perform functional performance testing for HVAC systems, central plants, electrical distribution, emergency power systems, fire alarm, smoke control, and plumbing systems
  • Lead integrated testing scenarios involving emergency power, life safety, BAS, and system interlocks under simulated conditions
  • Perform design and document reviews to identify coordination gaps, commissioning risks, and testability issues early
  • Observe installation of major equipment to verify readiness, accessibility, and compliance prior to testing
  • Conduct root cause analysis for complex, cross-discipline system issues using field investigation, BAS trends, and testing data
  • Clearly document deficiencies and corrective actions, distinguishing between design, construction, and operational issues
  • Prepare clear, accurate commissioning reports, deficiency logs, and closeout documentation
  • Chair commissioning meetings with owners, designers, contractors, and testing agencies
  • Serve as a technical resource to clients and internal teams throughout project execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass required background investigations
  • 7 years of experience commissioning commercial and institutional facilities, including central plant HVAC, electrical distribution, emergency power, and integrated life safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, system performance testing, and integrated building systems
  • Ability to identify issues early, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate technical findings clearly
  • Strong client-facing communication and project leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35% as project needs require
