Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Food Production Assistant Supervisor to help lead our overnight production operations. This role supports the Production Supervisor in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality food manufacturing processes during the overnight shift. The Assistant Supervisor will help coordinate production line activities, enforce food safety and quality standards, and provide leadership to production associates to maintain smooth operations and meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and assist the Production Supervisor in managing all overnight production activities.
- Lead, coach, and motivate production team members to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Monitor production lines to ensure products meet specifications and adjust workflow or resources as needed.
- Enforce compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP guidelines, and company food safety policies.
- Troubleshoot basic production line issues and coordinate maintenance support when necessary.
- Assist in training new employees on production processes, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials and packaging supplies during the shift and report shortages promptly.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, including batch records, line checks, and shift reports.
- Lead and participate in shift hand-off meetings to ensure smooth communication across shifts.
- Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment by enforcing sanitation schedules and safety rules.
- Act as the primary point of contact for production associates when the Supervisor is unavailable.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in food manufacturing or production environment required.
- 1 years in a leadership or lead operator role strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, and HACCP required.
- Ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, and work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory/production tracking systems).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
