Hotel Room Service Attendant

The Embassy Suites by Hilton, located near the Charlotte Airport, is hiring for a full-time Room Service Attendant. The hours for this position are 5pm-11pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide quality service to hotel restaurant customers and hotel guests who choose to dine in their rooms, by providing prompt and courteous food and beverage service

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Meets and exceeds customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork
• Provides prompt, courteous service by bussing, serving, and setting tables and timely delivery of room service orders
• Accurately records, pre-checks, and picks up all food and beverage orders and communicates effectively with chefs on special orders
• Serves customers their food and beverage orders in a prompt and courteous manner
• Sets tables as needed prior to customer arrival
• Contributes to customer satisfaction by attending to restaurant and room service customer needs
• Acquires a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities, and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required
• Ensures that restaurant is in proper condition for arrival of customers
• Verifies workstations are stocked, neat and orderly
• Processes customer restaurant bills promptly and accurately
• Inquires in to the level of satisfaction experienced by the customer; attempts to rectify any complaints and/or refers them to the manager
• Frequently walk the floors to retrieve trays from corridors and rooms
• Empty dirty dishes to dishwasher area

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 1 year of restaurant serving experience required
• Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate last minute changes in scheduling
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Displays working knowledge of cash register to ring up bills
• Ability to accurately handle cash, credit cards and checks.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to stand; walk; use hands to handle, grasp or type; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; talk or hear; and to push, pull or lift over 20 pounds. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
