POSITION TITLE: Transportation Director
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SUMMARY: The Operations Manager is responsible for the administrative functions associated with the efficient operation of the Title Ill Transportation Program and School Crossing Guard Program. This position will also oversee the maintenance of the Joseph H. Edwards Senior Center (SRDA) building.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises, schedules, and coordinates activities of Title Ill Transportation and School Crossing Guard Program.
2. Manages by objectives, following policies and procedures. Shares full budget accountability.
3. Prepares and reviews all monthly contract billing.
4. Compiles and analyzes statistical data, accident reports and monthly, quarterly and annual reports to State, local and Federal funding sources.
5. Responsible for all reporting and compliance requirements regarding FTA, DOT, and NTD, along with additional reporting requirements.
6. Develop and implement written policies and procedures for transportation services.
7. Coordinates service delivery with other community transportation providers.
8. Develops transportation agreements and voucher systems for providers.
9. Responsible for all transportation needs regarding the SRDA Shuttles as well as managing the Medicaid Transportation process.
10. Responsible for staff development, supervision and training.
11. Responsible for use, maintenance and operation of transportation vehicles. Works to assure that all equipment and vehicle needs are met for continued operation.
12. Develops and maintains an Advisory Council which meets at least quarterly.
13. Responsible for preparing all program proposals, grants, and contract development related to the Transportation Program, in addition to seeking new funding.
14. Responsible for implementing a monthly training and safety program.
15. Coordinates efforts with Human Resource Director to manage and implement the Substance Abuse Testing Program.
16. Coordinates with other Directors in monitoring the security systems and cameras at SRDA.
17. Manages the gas cards for drivers and school crossing guards.
18. Coordinates with the Bustang Director for participating in the on-call process on a rotating basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Preferred - Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
· Minimum of two (2) years managerial experience in areas such as, program planning, budget development, and personnel management.
· Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in the management of passenger transportation operations, including at least one (1) year of direct supervisory experience with drivers, scheduling and dispatch personnel, as well as a proven capacity to work effectively with para-transit customers and the general public.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Software
· Individuals considered for hire must have a current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
