Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles on local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and proper securing of loads.
- Deliver trailers, parts, containers, or other specialized equipment depending on the assignment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each shift.
- Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, pickups, and special instructions.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight movements, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols during loading/unloading operations and while on the road to ensure personal and team safety at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class A license.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load securing and proper use of equipment like forklifts.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, route management, and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks confidently.
- Keep your vehicle clean, neat and ready to deliver to our customers Treat the trucks like you would your own
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules or route adjustments while maintaining professionalism.
- Physical stamina for loading/unloading freight and performing inspections; ability to lift heavy loads when necessary.
