Job Overview:
SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy (CPSA) is currently seeking reliable and detail-oriented Custodians to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis. As a Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our newly established, tuition-free public charter school located in Madison County, Mississippi. Responsibilities:
1. Facility Maintenance: Perform general cleaning and sanitization duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, to ensure that all areas of the school are well-maintained and presentable.
2. Restroom Sanitation: Regularly clean and sanitize restroom facilities throughout the day to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene for students, staff, and visitors.
3. Waste Management: Empty trash bins and recycling containers regularly and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with school policies.
4. Safety and Security: Keep walkways, entrances, and exits clear of debris and hazards to ensure a safe environment for all. Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment in good working condition and provide basic repairs. Report any malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervisor.
6. Event Support: Assist in setting up and cleaning up after school events, meetings, and other activities as required.
7. Health and Hygiene Compliance: Follow established cleaning protocols and guidelines to maintain a healthy environment, particularly during times of increased health concerns.
8. Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other custodial staff and school personnel to accomplish daily tasks and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidates.
- Detail-oriented and thorough in performing cleaning tasks to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Understanding of basic cleaning chemicals and their proper usage is advantageous.
- Strong reliability and punctuality in fulfilling scheduled shifts.
- Willingness to adhere to school policies and safety guidelines at all times.
