Position Overview
The firm is seeking a seasoned Collections Manager to lead its billing and collections operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring client accounts are managed with professionalism and precision. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in law firm collections, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to resolving billing issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the collections process for client accounts across multiple practice areas
- Collaborate with partners and billing attorneys to resolve outstanding balances
- Develop and implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce aging receivables
- Monitor accounts receivable metrics and prepare regular reports for leadership
- Manage and mentor collections staff, ensuring adherence to firm policies and client service standards
- Handle sensitive client communications with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of collections experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of legal billing systems and AR processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to manage complex accounts and build relationships with internal stakeholders
- Experience with financial reporting and collections analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
