Job Summary
Maintain and repair golf course equipment. Oversee a comprehensive maintenance program including the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. Places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building. Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment automotive apparatuses. Working knowledge of care and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment. Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair. Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession. Ability to diagnose troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintain all equipment to manufacturer specifications which includes ALL safety features.
- Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of, and safe operation of equipment.
- Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment.
- Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory, purchases, equipment conditions, cost of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
- Spot check equipment for performance on the course, make emergency repairs as needed to equipment on the course, and service or supervise servicing of equipment prior to use.
- Oversee the shop area for maintenance.
- Regulate employees’ use of equipment in the absence of the superintendent and assistant superintendent, if needed, and perform other duties as directed by the superintendent.
- Lead by example, demonstrate professionalism.
- Keep a positive attitude.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Company standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the resort.
- Always comply with resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Always maintain radio contact with the Pro Shop and Greens Barn.
- Maintain and review daily activity logs.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
- Respond to complaints.
- Check safety hazards.
- Change oil.
- Sharpen reels on mowers.
- Organize and maintain invoices.
- Requisition and purchase necessary parts and supplies.
- Other duties may be assigned as business demands.
Qualifications
- One year as mechanic, Preferred
- Specialized knowledge of golf course equipment mechanics and service
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license
Additional Eligibility Requirements

- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing.
- Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening
- Position requires full flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays, and may be asked to work overtime to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
- Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment, and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
- Mechanical ability: ability to use common mechanical tools.
- Candidates in this role will be able to read, write, speak and understand English and meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.
- Must possess good communication skills, oral and written
- Must be able to work alone with little or no supervision
- This position utilizes problem solving and reasoning abilities often.
Work Environment

- Required to stand/walk/sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time
- Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
- Must be able to walk long distances around the property and/or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
