What are the responsibilities and job description for the TMC (Traffic Monitoring Center) Operator position at SR 400 Peach Partners?
ABOUT US:
SR 400 Peach Partners is a Project, consisting of the design, construction, finance, operations, and maintenance of a 16-mile-long corridor in the metro Atlanta region. This project will include additional dynamically-tolled free-flow express lanes in each direction between McGinnis Ferry Road in Fulton County and McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County. The Project will also encompass the upgrade of several key bridges along the route, including those at Pitts Road, Roberts Drive, and Kimball Bridge. This is an over 50 year construction and maintenance project.
Position Title: TMC Associate
Time: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $17.- $20. Per hour, depending on experience 35K-41k
Location: Alpharetta, GA
The TMC Associate will monitor traffic via cameras, continuously take calls reporting issues, report incidents and manage follow-through for each incident. This position reports to a centralized control center and will use advanced technology to detect incidents, coordinate responses, and communicate real-time information to the appropriate team. The TMC call center helps reduce congestion, improve safety, and enhance mobility within the 16-mile express lane construction project on SR400.
Traffic Monitoring & Surveillance
- Monitor roadway conditions and detect incidents, congestion, or hazards in real time.
- Analyze traffic data to identify patterns and recommend operational adjustments.
- Coordination with emergency services and field personnel to manage traffic incidents and minimize disruptions.
- Liaison / Dispatch appropriate response teams (e.g., law enforcement, tow services, maintenance crews, local and state transportation departments, and emergency responders).
- Update incident logs and maintain accurate records of events and actions taken.
- Respond to public inquiries and provide accurate, timely information.
MUST HAVE:
· High School Diploma or GED
- Must be reliable, team player, problem solver, good attitude.
· Excellent communication, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment (shift work may be required).
· Advanced computer skills
NICE TO HAVE:
· Experience in traffic operations, emergency dispatch, or transportation systems.
· Familiarity with traffic management software.
· Call Center experience
v You will need to pass a drug and background screening prior to start.
v The TMC Operators will attend training for 6 weeks
Locations: 935 United Ave. SE, Atlanta
You will master GDOT’s technology, learn processes, and connect with leaders in this Traffic Monitoring Center. You will be paid your hourly rate for training $100 stipend per week (paid out in our bi-weekly payroll). After 3 months of employment, after training, you will receive a $600 retention bonus.
