What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Advisor position at Squarely Financial?
Financial Advisor – Client Relationship & Growth Role (Series 7 & 66)
Hybrid | California | Base bonus
The Firm
Squarely LLC's client is a wealth management firm built around a simple idea: clients should feel known, valued, and genuinely cared for. The team runs on a disciplined operating rhythm and is intentionally segmenting its service model so every client gets the right level of attention — while protecting bandwidth for its highest-touch advisory relationships. This role sits at the center of that model.
The Role
This is a fully accountable, revenue-producing advisor position — not a support seat. You'll own a defined segment of client relationships end-to-end: service, planning follow-through, and appropriate sales opportunities. As client needs grow more complex, you'll loop in specialists and senior advisors to make sure clients keep getting the right level of expertise.
What You'll Own
Relationship & Retention
- Serve as primary advisor for an assigned client segment
- Build trust through responsiveness and consistent follow-through
- Identify and close suitable opportunities — planning engagements, investment management, insurance/annuity solutions
- Loop in additional advisors or specialists when a client's complexity exceeds the segment's scope
Client Meetings & Service
- Lead client meetings and ongoing reviews
- Translate recommendations into clear, client-friendly language
- Own post-meeting execution and follow-up, coordinating with internal teams
- Maintain strong retention across a higher-volume, lower-complexity book
Planning & Execution Support
- Support implementation of financial plans and investment strategies
- Coordinate account actions and documentation with Operations
- Track follow-through on recommendations
Process & Documentation
- Keep CRM records complete and current
- Operate within established workflows and compliance standards
- Flag issues proactively, before they escalate
What Success Looks Like
- Clients feel proactively supported and confident in the relationship
- Retention holds strong within the segment
- Collaboration across advisory teams is seamless from the client's view
- Revenue grows in the segment without sacrificing service quality
- Meetings, follow-ups, and documentation are consistently on time and accurate
Qualifications
- Active Series 7 & 66 (or equivalent)
- Prior experience as a financial advisor or relationship manager in wealth management
- Comfortable owning a book with both service and sales accountability
- Strong communicator with a polished client-facing presence
- Able to manage multiple relationships at once without dropping quality
- Sound judgment on when to escalate beyond your own scope
Culture & Leadership
You'll report to a leader who pairs high expectations with high support, in an environment that's evolving quickly — refining service models, expanding sales offerings, rolling out new technology, and preparing for growth via acquisition. The leadership style is direct, fast-paced, and invested in advisor development. This role suits someone energized by a moving target, who stays detail-oriented through periods of change, and who respects structure while adapting as the firm scales.
You'll Love This If You...
- Enjoy being an ongoing, trusted advisor
- Like balancing relationship management with sales
- Want clear expectations and direct feedback
- Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
- Take pride in accuracy and prompt execution
- Want to earn expanded responsibility through performance
This Isn't For You If You...
- Need constant direction
- Get overwhelmed managing multiple relationships at once
- Resist new systems or technology
- Struggle with consistent documentation or follow-through
- Prefer going your own way over working within established process
- Avoid accountability or performance feedback
Compensation & Benefits
- Base performance-based bonus (revenue, retention, service metrics)
- 401(k): 3% match 4% employer contribution on 5% employee deferral
- Health, dental, vision coverage
- PTO with manager approval
- Schedule: Mon–Thu 8:30am–5:00pm Pacific, Fri 8:30am–1:00pm Pacific
Salary : $110,000 - $160,000
