Squadron Legal is currently recruiting on behalf of a respected and well-established litigation firm in New Jersey seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing Insurance Defense practice, with a strong emphasis on Medical Malpractice Defense.
This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with insurance defense experience, medical malpractice defense experience, or those looking to expand their litigation practice in these areas. Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of insurance defense matters, including medical malpractice defense cases
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Manage all phases of discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Assist with trial preparation and trial support
- Work closely with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar, or eligibility for admission
- 3–10 years of litigation experience
- Insurance defense experience preferred
- Medical malpractice defense experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- $120,000–$150,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
