What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Director, SLED & Enterprise position at Squadra?
--- ABOUT SQUADRA SOLUTIONS ---
Squadra Solutions is a cybersecurity and IT infrastructure integrator headquartered in McLean, VA. We are not a reseller. We own the full chain: identify the need, scope the solution, close the deal, and deliver it. Our OEM partnerships include Palo Alto Networks (Diamond Partner, 13 architect-level certifications), Cisco, CrowdStrike, Armis, Tenable, Splunk, and others across both the cybersecurity and infrastructure pillars.
Our clients include federal civilian agencies, higher education institutions, state and local government agencies, and marquee commercial enterprises. We are a founder-led, 25-person organization generating $50M annually. We are investing aggressively in SLED and Enterprise growth and this role is central to that expansion.
--- THE ROLE ---
We are hiring a Sales Director to lead growth across State, Local, and Education (SLED) markets and large commercial enterprises. This is a player-coach role. You will carry a personal book of strategic accounts while building and developing a team of 3-5 Account Executives. You report directly to the CEO.
This is not a role for someone who needs a fully built marketing engine and SDR team to perform. It is a build mode role for a sales leader who has done it before and wants to do it again with fewer layers and more ownership.
--- WHAT YOU WILL OWN ---
Revenue: Drive new business across state/local government, K-12, higher education, and large commercial enterprises. Grow share of wallet in existing accounts through cross-selling of professional services and partner cybersecurity and infrastructure solutions.
Team: Build and develop the SLED and Enterprise AE bench. Design sales processes, KPIs, forecasting cadence, and compensation plans. Lead by example through active, hands-on selling and executive-level engagement.
Pipeline: Own full-cycle sales execution. Maintain accurate forecasting in HubSpot and NetSuite. Provide regular pipeline and revenue reporting to the CEO.
Partnerships: Leverage Squadra's OEM relationships, including Palo Alto, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Splunk, Armis, and others, to generate pipeline and close deals. Partner closely with OEMs on joint go-to-market strategy.
Proposals: Lead compliant, high-quality proposal development across SLED and commercial opportunities. Navigate cooperative contracts and state purchasing vehicles including NASPO and state master contracts.
--- WHAT WE NEED ---
Required:
- 7-10 years of sales leadership experience in SLED markets (state, local, and/or education)
- 3-5 years of sales leadership experience in commercial enterprise markets
- Background in a VAR or systems integrator environment
- Proven success selling cybersecurity, infrastructure, or IT modernization solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Deep familiarity with SLED procurement processes, timelines, and compliance requirements
- Credible across both cybersecurity and infrastructure: you can hold a CISO conversation and a CIO conversation without a vendor rep in the room
Preferred:
- Experience selling through cooperative contracts and state purchasing vehicles (NASPO, DIR, state master contracts, education procurement models)
- Existing relationships with state/local government CIOs, CISOs, or procurement officers you can call this week
- Experience with K-12 and higher education institutional sales
- Familiarity with the Palo Alto Networks and Cisco OEM ecosystems
--- COMPENSATION ---
Squadra offers a competitive base salary and performance-based commission structure tied to net margin, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation details are discussed directly with finalists and are commensurate with experience and the scope of the role.
--- WHY THIS ROLE ---
Squadra is one of the most technically respected network and cybersecurity engineering integrators in the market. Joining Squadra means leading growth across high-value SLED and commercial markets with strong existing momentum, shaping go-to-market strategy at a pivotal stage, working alongside a founder-led executive team, and playing a central role in defining Squadra's long-term market position.
If you have built something from a lean base before, know what good looks like across both cyber and infrastructure, and want to do it with fewer layers and more ownership, we want to talk.
Salary : $50
