Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level II (Contract)

We are currently seeking a Quality Mechanical Inspector for an immediate opening in Miami, FL. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, working second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Full-Time. Overtime is available as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical inspections on parts, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Inspect components for defects such as damage, corrosion, burrs, dents, and other nonconformities
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including GD&T, to ensure part accuracy and conformance
• Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with company and customer requirements
• Complete and maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation in a timely manner
• Review and verify quality documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with purchase order (PO) requirements
• Documentation may include data sheets called out on the PO, material certifications, Certificates of Conformance (COCs), First Article Inspection Reports (FAIs), and related quality records
• Training will be provided to support understanding and execution of documentation review processes
  
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Previous mechanical inspection experience
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection plans and protocols
• Experience with the use of precision measurement tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings
• Ability to work effectively within a quality management system
• Must be ITAR Compliant
• Must be willing to undergo a background check
  
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5
• Experience with AS9102 (FAI)
• Experience with SAP or ERP system
• Experience with Certification of Conformance
• Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school; college degree in engineering
• Knowledge of mechanical contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing
• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector
