Quality Inspector - First Articles Inspections (Aerospace)

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality First Article Inspector, to join our team and support a leading aerospace company specializing in flight deck window production. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, 3-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Review manufacturing documentation (e.g., technical drawings, assembly instructions, material specs, quality reports, test data) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
• Ensure documentation adheres to AS9100, FAA, and AS9102 FAIs and customer-specific standards
• Work with engineering and quality teams to confirm alignment with production processes and regulatory guidelines
• Verify version control of manufacturing documents, ensuring the most current versions are used
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Technical knowledge as an inspector, documentation control reviewer, junior engineer, or related field (or a combination of relevant education and experience)
• Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations)
• Strong understanding of First Articles Inspections (FAIs)
• Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in documentation control or manufacturing documentation review in aerospace or a similarly regulated industry
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies in technical documents
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 5 years of documentation review, quality, or manufacturing support experience in aerospace or a similar industry
• Certification in AS9100 Internal Auditing or Quality Engineering (CQE)
• Proficiency with ERP/document control systems (e.g., SAP, Windchill)
• Working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace technical drawings
