The Business Development Director will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new project opportunities while cultivating strong relationships across the commercial construction industry. This is a newly created role at the company, offering a unique opportunity to help shape and build the business development function from the ground up. Reporting to the President, this person will play a critical part in executing the company's growth strategy and driving expanded market presence across the Triangle and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute business development strategies to expand the company's presence and brand visibility across the Triangle Market and beyond.
- Identify, pursue, and help secure project opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives across commercial electrical, design-build, and specialty systems sectors.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and key industry partners to support sustained growth and long-term partnerships.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to support leadership decision-making, including analysis of market trends, competitor activity, and regional developments.
- Track opportunities, contacts, and activities accurately and timely within CRM systems.
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, networking functions, and community engagements.
- Engage with current and prospective clients through consistent outreach and client entertainment to create meaningful opportunities for connection.
- Partner with preconstruction and operations teams to develop pursuit strategies and ensure seamless client transitions post-award.
- Support marketing and branding initiatives to strengthen the company's visibility and reputation in the market.
- Coordinate with internal teams to leverage opportunities and maximize market reach across all service lines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the commercial construction or electrical industry, or a closely related field.
- Strategic, self-directed mindset with a high level of accountability and follow-through.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
