We are seeking a Retail Supervisor to support and elevate our Sales Team. The ideal candidate brings an open mind, a flexible approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry. Working closely with our Sales Manager, this person will help drive consumer-direct goals while maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment. The right candidate will balance a fun, engaging workplace with professionalism – leading by example and setting a high standard for the team.
The Spyderco Factory Outlet Store is open Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 and Saturday 10:00-5:00, employee schedules are 40 hours a week over 5 days, so some Saturdays are required. Black Friday as well as Christmas Eve (pending on which day it falls).
Compensation: $29-34/hr. ($60,000.00-70,000.00)
What we are looking for:
  • Work cohesively with Sales Manager to execute both short and long-term strategic planning goals in line with the company culture and philosophy, including thoughtful marketing campaigns for both in-store and online customers.
  • Oversee daily store operations to ensure a high standard of customer service in the Spyderco Factory Outlet, customer service for warranty & repair and website commerce.
  • Manage staff scheduling, PTO requests, inventory control, cash management, reports, and other daily operations of the store
  • Interdepartmental communication regarding all consumer-facing interactions, including in-person retail store traffic, website ordering, incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Support a strong, effective team, focusing on customer service and departmental growth while maintaining a clean, professional and inviting retail store.
  • Coach and support staff with customer interactions for problem resolution – willing to step in during escalated customer inquiries building trust, loyalty, and long-term customer relationships.
  • Solid retail knowledge with strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, assist in task delegation while taking direction from the Sales Manager
  • Assist Warranty and Repair with customer engagement in-store, over the phone, and through e-mail communications
  • Strong communication skills
What you Bring:
  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Management or related field preferred,
  • Minimum of three years of related experience and one to 2 years of supervisor or leadership experience
  • Experience in retail management including retail merchandising, setup and organization
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations and questions.
  • Ability to effectively and quickly build rapport and strong relationships
  • POS systems experience
  • Knife/industry knowledge is a PLUS
Essential Physical Abilities:
Long periods of standing and/or sitting
Occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
