What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist position at Spurwink Services?
Spurwink is hiring an Overnight Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) for our soon-to-open Lewiston Crisis Center, which offers a warm, welcoming environment for individuals ages 14 experience urgent behavioral health needs. As an alternative to hospitalization or law enforcement intervention, we provide stabilization, observation, assessment, and short-term intervention in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment - open 24/7, 365 days a year, promoting safety, dignity, and recovery.
DUTIES:
- Use Intentional Peer Support (IPS) practices to develop connection and trust.
- Shared lived experience intentionally and ethically to normalize crisis experiences.
- Work collaboratively with crisis workers and other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, bachelor's degree preferred. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification required or must obtain within first year of employment.
