GSE Mechanic (Technician) 1st shift
Job Duties:
- Diagnose malfunctions and repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Advise and train lower-grade workers on diagnosing and repairing less complex maintenance problems.
- Inspect and approve completed maintenance actions.
- Solve repair issues by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications.
- Use automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
- Analyze, diagnose, and repair GSE using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
- Maintain external fuel and grounding systems. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.
- Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine serviceability and proper operation.
- Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic malfunctions using senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
- Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE components and accessories.
- Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories.
- Stencil and mark GSE per technical publication requirements.
- Store, handle, label, use, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
- Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment.
- Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles.
- Maintain and update both paper and electronic equipment records.
- Provide GSE dispatch services, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flight operations.
- Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and safety at all times.
- Perform crane-operator duties when qualified, in compliance with OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and applicable certification requirements.
- Safely operate motor vehicles with the appropriate and current state driver's license.
- Maintain a safe driving record with no suspended or revoked licenses.
- Adhere to company AS9100 and Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training courses are desirable.
- A minimum three-years of work experience as related to individual specialty code.
- Must be able to acquire a CAC Card.
