The Pool Maintenance Specialist – Floater is a fully trained field technician who supports operational continuity while awaiting assignment of a permanent service route. During this transition period, the Floater provides coverage for technician call-outs, paid time off (PTO), open routes, and special service needs to ensure consistent, high-quality pool care for our customers.
This role is designed as a temporary but critical stepping-stone position. Once assigned a full, permanent route, the employee will advance to Pool Maintenance Specialist – Level 1.

Position Summary
- Perform weekly residential and commercial pool maintenance services, including:
- Water testing and chemical balancing
- Skimming, brushing, and vacuuming pools
- Cleaning baskets, filters, and related equipment
- Identifying and reporting equipment or safety issues
- Deliver consistent, high-quality service aligned with company standards and customer expectations
- Route Coverage & Flexibility. Cover assigned routes due to:
- Technician call-outs
- PTO requests
- Vacant or transitioning routes
- Adapt quickly to changing schedules, locations, and service needs
- Support multiple branches or territories as needed
- Customer Service
- Maintain professional, courteous interactions with customers
- Address basic service questions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Represent the company’s core values and service commitment at all times
- Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document services, chemical readings, and notes in ServiceTitan (or company system)
- Comply with all safety, fleet, timekeeping, and operational policies
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service vehicles
- Training & Advancement
- This position is held after completion of initial Pool Maintenance Specialist training
- Floater status continues until: a full route becomes available, and the employee demonstrates readiness for independent route ownership.
- Upon assignment of a permanent route, the employee will transition to: Pool Maintenance Specialist – Level 1
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of company Pool Maintenance Specialist training program
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel between routes and locations as needed
- Prior experience in pool maintenance, field service, or route-based work
- Knowledge of basic pool chemistry and equipment (or willingness to learn)
- Customer service or trade-service background
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely handle pool chemicals following safety guidelines

- Occasional schedule adjustments to support operational demands
