ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:  

 

The Regional Account Director is responsible for fostering, maintaining, and growing Spry’s strategic accounts across the Midwest region. This role exists to provide elevated, top-level support to Spry clients while building strong relationships at the Director, VP, and C-Suite levels to drive account retention and expand adoption of Spry’s product lines. Using Spry’s Foster | Maintain | Grow model, the Regional Account Director will conduct client visits and meetings, oversee warehouse inventory management, and resolve client issues, while partnering with internal teams to enhance the overall client experience and support general business operations. The Regional Account Director reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

The following duties and responsibilities are essential in the daily execution of the position: 

  • Primary positional responsibilities [85% of time] are focused on existing book of business ranging from $7 - $8 million in annual sales. 
  • Foster | Foster and build relationships with key contacts for each client, including the C-Suite. Complete account visits according to their assigned visit schedule as the primary method of fostering relationships. Build relationships with the clients – from the top down. Provide consulting on needs pertaining to streamlining and savings for the customer.  
  • Maintain | Maintain the existing level of business with clients. Responsible for generating sales while meeting margin standards for each client. 
  • Grow | Sales growth with existing accounts by deepening relationships and winning new lines of business. Expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services. 
  • Responsible for cost analysis support including sample collection, building reports, one-on-one meetings and other duties as assigned.  
  • Quarterly visits to assigned accounts, or as directed by CRO. Travel to be scheduled two weeks in advance for planning purposes. One to two visits per year will include the CRO and/or President/CEO joining in the visit. 
  • Complete annual account review with all clients, following annual review guidelines and process. 
  • Emails and phone calls returned within the same day they are received. This is required for internal communication and customer communication on all levels. 
  • Request for pricing from customers provided within 24 hours, with few exceptions. 
  • Guide, collaborate and assist Client Experience Managers (CXM) to meet client needs. 
  • Approve pricing for all client orders, including orders placed by CXMs for Top 5 accounts – review during weekly cadence meetings with CXM. 
  • Weekly cadence of meeting with CXMs, working in the office one day, working out of the office three days, and work from home one day. 
  • Additional positional responsibilities [15% of time] are focused on lead generation. 
  • Trade shows – work tradeshows to create leads for sales team. 
  • Milk route sales – finding new sales opportunities for new businesses within assigned territories. 
  • Networking – cultivating leads from network.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: 

  • High school education (or equivalent), with post-secondary pursuit preferred 
  • 5 years of experience in related field (i.e., business, client service, sales) 
  • Ability to navigate computer proficiently, with programs or software systems experience 
  • Ability to plan effectively 
  • Self-Motivated 
  • Highly organized 
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Attention to detail  
  • Analytical thinker 
  • Travel – ability to travel on occasion to client locations  


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 

  • Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried position 
  • Base Compensation $75,000/year Commissions.   
  • Eligible for company sponsored health benefits and 401K matching, according to benefit timelines
