Utility Operator

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Utility Operator to join their operations team at a modern industrial processing facility. This position plays an important role in supporting day-to-day plant operations, product handling, maintenance activities, and quality control while ensuring safe and efficient production.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
Perform water testing and maintain accurate operating logs and records.
Support daily plant operations by assisting with a variety of production and utility tasks.
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, including collecting samples, testing process streams, and responding to test results.
Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and general plant upkeep.
Load finished products into trucks and railcars, including weighing, sampling, and testing materials.
Move railcars throughout the facility to support shipping and receiving operations.
Assist with product transfer operations involving pumps, piping, and valves.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, or similar equipment (preferred).
Maintain plant cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Follow all environmental, health, safety, and operating procedures.
Accurately complete required documentation and operating records.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing or ethanol production environment is preferred but not required.
Special Boiler License or higher is preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills or the ability to learn plant operating systems.
Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working around industrial equipment.
Ability to work in confined spaces and climb stairs and ladders up to 150 feet.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, noise, and other industrial environmental
