What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Store Planner - Visual Format Design position at Sprouts Farmers Market?
Responsible for the design and overall look and feel of new stores, remodels, and conversion for all Sprouts store locations. This role will focus on creating thoughtful and highly creative designs that align with current design strategies and meet the business needs while supporting the customer experience.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Strategic design based on qualitative and quantitative insights
- Communicate and present design concepts to the team and create presentation materials that effectively communicate design intent
- Create innovative 3D design solutions and execute concepts to improve product and conceptual presentations
- Leverage design processes and best practices to ensure design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met
- Collaborate with Sprouts team members to understand decor goals in the fleet, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact
- Collaborate with real estate, architects, marketing, and external consultants to facilitate design changes
- Manage budgets and coordinate implementation for new designs across the fleet
- Ability to manage multiple project timelines and schedules simultaneously and work with little supervision to produce high quality work on strict timelines
- Review décor budget and propose innovative options for value engineering without sacrificing quality
- Review and approve interior décor plans and elevations for new stores
- Updating project milestones in Smartsheet’s and maintain décor history
- Complete sign requests from stores as needed
- Support merchandising and fixture tests and apply learnings as necessary
- Continuously analyzes performance metrics and identifies opportunities/makes recommendations to optimize space productivity
- May be responsible for training to other team members within job area
- Ability to understand broader set of design initiatives and issues related to new and existing store designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, or a related field
- 10 years’ experience in retail with a minimum of 3 years of food retail
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency required. AutoCAD/Revit, Sketch-up, Enscape, Photoshop and Adobe Suite or equivalent visual design systems
- Working knowledge of design and color principles, construction, ADA codes, architectural detailing, and specifications
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to gather and interpret data efficiently and accurately
- Ability to cross functionally collaborate and solve problems
- Experience building relationships, interacting with all levels of leadership
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude with ability to thrive in a fluid, fast-moving, high pressure and constantly changing business environment
