This role will lead the development and execution of projects/initiatives that drive incremental sales & margin. He/She will collaborate closely with various cross functional teams, including Merchandising, Merch Planning, Space Planning, and Pricing. This role will Identify opportunities in the business, size the opportunities, and develop plans to solve. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for overseeing and driving the successful implementation of strategic initiatives. The project manager will analyze data to create conclusions and recommendations based on key data points. Ultimately, he/she will leverage data to influence key leaders and stakeholders, ultimately turning insights into action.
Overview of Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Identify areas of opportunity related to promotion planning and forecasting, new/seasonal item planning, markdowns, private label brand planning and execution
- Influence cross-functional teams to think about the business differently, inspire change and take action
- Assess the impact, demand, and feasibility of potential strategic initiatives to prioritize those with the greatest impact to the business
- Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision making, monitor project progress and shift strategies as needed
- Synthesize content from complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods
- Communicate strategic objectives and updates to key stakeholders
Project/Process Improvement
- Drive and implement identified strategic initiatives
- Build strong relationships internally and externally; influence peers and leaders
- Anticipate potential challenges and risks associated with strategic initiatives and develop mitigation plans

Qualifications
- Critical thinker who makes highly analytical and data-driven decisions informed by leveraging external/internal data sources
- 5 years’ experience with category management or merchandise planning, preferably in Retail or CPG/Food industry
- Proven ability to manage several projects concurrently with competing priorities
- Analytical mindset with detail orientation and entrepreneurial work ethic
- Excellent internal communication skills and ability to influence
- Strong qualitative and quantitative (analytical modeling) assessment skills and experience
- Excellent technical skills including Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to create and deliver executive presentations by distilling complicated data down to a story
- Entrepreneurial and continuous improvement mindset
