The Manager of Expense Optimization plays a critical role in driving cost-efficiency across the organization. This leader spearheads cross-functional initiatives aimed at identifying and implementing innovative strategies to reduce operational expenses. By partnering closely with senior leadership, the Manager designs and executes process improvements that align store operations with enterprise-wide goals. The role is responsible for developing scalable operational structures and initiatives that consistently deliver measurable cost reductions, enhance productivity, and support long-term financial sustainability. This position is based out of Sprouts' Store Support Office. Candidates must live, or be willing to relocate, to Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview of Responsibilities
Strategic Process Leadership
- Leads cross-functional teams across many initiatives aligned to Sprouts’ strategic priorities, including labor model, P&L expense reductions, and reporting.
- Develops forward-looking, cross-functional action plans for improving profitability across all stores. Works across the organization to ensure we are making profitable sales, while also achieving optimal performance in key expense categories.
- Designs and develops pilots, PoCs, and tests in conjunction with cross-functional partners.
- Drives pilot planning, execution, and scaling of new store formats and technologies.
- Guides field leadership and store teams to efficiently execute programs and processes; utilizes all P&L metrics to track performance and manage store workload.
Performance & Change Management
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor process health and improvement impact.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders and accelerate adoption.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation and cultural integration.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 4 years of store operational experience with a focus on operations strategy, and/or High Level P&L performance.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
