Qualifications
The primary responsibility of the Environmental Compliance Coordinator is to assist the Environmental Compliance team with the execution and administration of the company’s organization-wide environmental compliance program focusing on waste reduction. This is an excellent opportunity to assist in the development and on-going implementation of Sprouts’ zero waste strategies, supporting compliance efforts, and measuring and reporting on the progress within the company and supply chain, including the impact on the company’s financial, social, and environmental performance.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Support the company’s stores in executing on waste reduction, diversion and reporting initiatives
- Assist with environmental compliance data collection for use in external reporting and internal decision-making
- Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations and laws.
- Assist with sustainability projects aimed at reducing the organization’s environmental footprint
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments to integrate environmental compliance into daily operations
- Correspond with the company’s food rescue partners to facilitate donations and required reporting
- Assist with collection and evaluation of supplier surveys and assessments (g., product packaging)
- Support regular communication with stores and engagement with stakeholders regarding environmental compliance initiatives
- Research and analyze environmental compliance opportunities and risks
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned by the environmental compliance / sustainability team

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (in an environmentally related discipline, such as sustainability, environmental studies/sciences, engineering, business) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum contribution of 40 hours per week
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
